OUR STUDENT RABBI
Doug (“Dov”) Hauer is a rabbinical student at Hebrew Union College in New York, and a doctoral candidate in Talmud and Rabbinics at Jewish Theological Seminary. He has served as a partner with a large law firm in Boston for over a decade and teaches professional responsibility as well as Jewish law and immigration law at Boston University School of Law. With a strong commitment for human rights advocacy, Doug has been very active representing families in Israel in various matters related to October 7. Doug has a strong background in cross-border human rights activism and has traveled to countries such as Armenia, Pakistan, and Ukraine, among other places, to assist the most vulnerable people in conflict zones who are impacted by war and border closures.
Doug graduated from Boston University School of Law (2001) and Ohio State University (1993). He is married to Jack Gilad, an endodontist, for close to 30 years and they live in Boston with their two dogs and parrots.
